Miami Dental Internet Marketing

This document was created by Josh NelsonMiami Internet Marketing Consultant - for the Miami Dental Society to help Miami Dental Practitioners understand and quantify the online marketing opportunity for their dental practice.

Miami Dental Marketing

Each month there are over 14 Billion searches across the major search engines (Google, Yahoo & Bing). The latest statistics indicate that over 35% of those searches are “local” in nature. The questions that most dental practitioners want the answers to are:

  • How many of those searches were specific to “Dental Services” in my service area here in Miami?
  • How do I get my company website to show up in those searches and direct those searchers to my site?

This post contains data pulled from the Major Search Engines over a 12 month period and helps to answer both of these questions.

How many searches are there for “Dental Related Services” in the Miami Area on a monthly basis?

Based on the historic data available from Google, Yahoo & Bing there are over 20+ million searches related to “dental services” on a monthly basis. We are able to isolate the number of those searches that originated within the Miami Area based on IP Address. The data shows that there are approximatly 205,425 searches related “Dental Services” in the Miami Area each month.

What types of words are people typing that are being clasified as “Dental Related”?

Miami Dental Keywords

How can I ensure that my practice is showing up on the search engines for the more than 200,000 searches that are being initiated for my services each month?

There are a number of things that you can do to position your practice to show up in these searches including:

  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – This is the process of optimizing your site so that it appears in the organic section of the search engine:

Miami Dental SEO - Search Engine Optomization

  • Search Engine Marketing (SEM) or Pay-Per-Click – This is the process of paying for placement for the keywords that you select:

Miami Dental SEM - Internet Marketing

There are benefits & limitations to both approaches. Ideally you need to have a strategy for both SEO & SEM. As an Internet Marketing Consultant I help South Florida Dentists implement online marketing initiatives that help to ensure they are showing up for their core services and significantly increase their New Patient Flow.

SEO Strategy For Local Business – Local Search Engine Optimization

Posted in Internet Marketing, Josh Nelson, Local Search Engine Marketing, Miami Internet Marketing, Miami SEO, Online Marketing Checklist for Local Business, Online Marketing for Local Business, Search Engine Optomization, SEO on 24.02.10 by Josh Nelson

Below is a video recording of my thoughts on Local SEO – Search Engine Optimization.

Key Actionable Ideas:

  • Title Tag – Update your Title Tags with Localized Keywords E.G. “Miami Dentist | Your Company Name | Dr. John Doe”
  • H1 Tag - Be sure that you have an H1 Tag with your Localized Keywords E.G. “Your Miami Dentist”
  • Meta Description & Meta Data – Use your keywords here but make sure your description makes sense to human readers
  • Body Text – Use your keywords early in the Body of your website
  • Anchor Text – Add your primary keyword and hyper link it to your homepage in the body & footer (if possible). E.G. – Miami Internet Marketing (This is anchor text back to my homepage www.joshnelsonimc.com)
  • Site Map – Create a sitemap and submit it to Google, Yahoo & Bing.

Remember that the suggestions listed above are all related to “On The Page Optimization”. They are the foundation for good SEO but the real trick is getting inbound links. Getting inbound links or “Off The Page Optimization” accounts for more than 70% of your actual placement in the Search Engines. He who has the most credible links gets top placement.
